The Future of Remote Control

The Future of Remote Control

Just like most technology based products, RC cars, boats, and planes have run the gambit of time evolving through the years. The future of remote control is really equal to the sky is the limit. One thing I think every hobby enthusiast can remember, is their "First Day." That day, they finally got their first RC car- whether it was brand new out of the box, or just brand new to them, but used. I remember my first day...

My family owns a hobby shop, and after coming back to work for them, I found myself staring at the RC section daily. Every customer coming in would ask me if I had any- and I always told them, that I sold them, I didn't play with them. The more I worked, the more interested in RC I became. The RC side was easier to fall into, and learn the ropes versus the model railroad side. Even with my discount, I was hesitant to sink in any large amount of money for my first RC car. I chose a small, $50 car we had gotten in, and started playing with it. That small, insufficient car started it all. Quickly, I realized you get what you pay for, and jumped up the the 1/18 scale and 1/24 scale cars. It wasn't long after that, I had a few 1/10 crawlers and even a basher. The upgrades, and customizations began, and now here I am years later with my very own shelf of RC cars/parts in my basement.

What was your first RC car? How did you decide? What does your collection look like now?!
