What is S Gauge?

S Gauge is the oldest of the Model Railroad sizes dating back to 1896, peaking in popularity in the 1950’s. It is 1:64 scale making it larger then HO Gauge, but smaller then 0 Gauge trains. Although the original American Flyer in the 1920’s was not produced in S Gauge, today, Lionel produces a line of S Gauge based on the classic American Flyer line.
