White Rose Hobbies Acquires Old Line Corridor N Scale Layout

White Rose Hobbies Acquires Old Line Corridor N Scale Layout

May 2021

WRH has purchased the Old Line Corridor N Scale Layout from builder Steve Lee. This layout was featured in the May 2021 issue of Railroad Model Craftsman. The layout is 3'x7' built on a hollow door base. All photos and videos in this article are by Steve Lee. We will be talking many more as the layout lives on at White Rose Hobbies.

We decided to make the purchase for several reasons, the layout is easily adaptable to almost any era that you could model on the Northeast Corridor from PRR to modern day Amtrak. Also both of the owners of White Rose Hobbies spent many years of running freight trains for Norfolk Southern under the wires alongside the high speed passenger trains. This will allow us to use the layout to take photographs and videos of newly released models for sale in our shop. The catenary and substation is from DesignDyne via Shapeways. Here's a link to the DesignDyne N scale substation

We do not plan to make any major changes to the layout at this time, other then adding a few vehicles and details that were not included in the sale. We will be using a NCE PowerCab DCC system to operate the railroad. The track is Peco code 55. The layout will be available to view anytime the shop is open, we will change the eras up from time to time between, PRR, PC, early Amtrak and Conrail through modern day Amtrak and Norfolk Southern.

Check out a few more photos below.
