Atlas HO Scale EMD GP40 High Hood Pan Am Railways MEC 370
Custom Painted
Original Part - Atlas 8946
Since its introduction in 1966, EMD's GP40 has been a favorite with North American railroads. This HO Scale model is a fitting tribute to this rugged freight diesel.
The models are fully assembled and include dynamic brakes or nondynamic hatches, along with the correct 2600 or 3600 gallon fuel tanks, to match the prototype. Standard features include cab interior with crew figures, windshield wipers, metal grab irons, fine scale handrails, moveable drop steps, safety tread walkways, coupler cut bars, MU lines and trainline air hose, which are all separately applied. All models come with Accumate(R) working knuckle couplers.
Engines are equipped with the Atlas DCC-ready operating mechanism, which features a five-pole, skewed armature motor with dual flywheels, directional lighting and a realistic diecast underframe.
