The Lancer Evolution is recognized as the face of Mitsubishi’s WRC (World Rally Championship) success. In the golden period from 1996 to 1999 with Tommi Mäkinen behind the wheel, the Evo won the championship four years in a row. To celebrate this achievement, Mitsubishi released the Lancer Evolution VI Tommi Makinen Edition (TME) in year 2000. To highlight its unique specifications, a color scheme inspired by the factory works machines incorporates special wheels and front bumper without fog lights, which was a feature of the Evo IV and VI to improve aerodynamics. The engine is equipped with a titanium-aluminum alloy turbine aimed at improving mid-low speed torque and response, as well as a newly developed suspension that lowers the vehicle height by 10mm. Since the release of the Evo VII, Mitsubishi has shifted gears to WR cars, so the Evo VI remains highly sought after as Mitsubishi’s last pure Gr.A racing machine.
